Further to my last post, I'm getting an error now, that I just cannot get
past!
I'm getting partitioned, and it looks for available packages. Then I get tjis
error:
GetAndSaveFile (/mnt/var/lib/urpmi/hdlist.installation CD1 (cdrom1).cz):
No such file or directory.
It does this with both 2k5 AND 2k6, and if I try a network install from an FTP
server, I get the same, but related to the installation media on the server,
as opposed to the CD's.
Strange!
Is this some kind of thing goingon between Dell/Intel/Microshaft to prevent
Linux being installed on these machines?
I give up.... I'm reinstalling XP as we speak, and I'm ready to roll over and
admit defeat with this box!
Any ideas for future reference appreciated!
Cheers,
James
just how much have you tried with nolapic and noapic in the append to
the kernel (when you start and it asks hit enmter to install or f1 for
other options, hit f1 and type; "linux noapic nolapic" without the quotes)
