Do I have KDE installed?? Hell, that was the first thing I *unchecked* in the
package selection during install... ;-) However, my wife's/daughter's machine
has KDE installed, and I was going to install the latest XFCE on there, I'll
letcha know what happens.

Gnome certainly does not seem to be causing any problems.

I see below, IIRC, you *don't* want icons on your desktop?

If so, all you have to do is under Desktop Prefs select 'None' for desktop
icons.

If you still want a 'trash' or whatever, there's a Trashbin plugin for the
panel, I believe. I've grown used to 'if I delete it, it's deleted'. :-)

If what you're getting is duplicate icons, then check to see if XFCE is running
KDE services at startup or something. Under Sessions --> Advanced, see if KDE
services are starting with XFCE. You shouldn't need them, AFAIK.

Your best bet, though, in the end, is with the XFCE list. They'll have more
in-depth knowledge about how the desktop icons work, and since this is a release
candidate, they are usually more than happy to help you bug-hunt :-)
