I´m seeing the "Acer FlatBedScanner22" at "Mandriva Linux Control Center =>
Hardware => Set up scanner => Add a scanner manually" I also see sometimes a
"Noname unknown/generic virtual device" message.

I have SANE installed. In /etc/sane.d/snapscan.conf is a reference to the
firmware that came with the windows CD of my Benq 5000 flat scanner. The
reference is to /usr/share/sane/firmware/20F8U115.bin . I confirmed the bin
file that comes with the windows installation CD is there.

There is also a reference in the snapscan.conf to the Benq 5000 scanner. The
lines are:
# Benq 5000
usb 0x04a5 0x20fc

I have no idea what those references are for.

I still can not scan. Which is the next step?

Thanks, Luis
