Subject: [newbie] Wireless Woes....

Hi All,

This new wireless card, as gotten me pulling my hair out bigtime.....

I cant get it to run either with the Linux drivers, or even with ndiswrapper.

The chipset is the Texas Instruments TNETW1130(ACX111).

In ndiswrapper, I have given it the windows drivers it needs (tnet1130.inf and
tnet1130.sys), and then it fails, giving me "could not load ndiswrapper
module", then it tells me I need firmware. I have duly obtained the Windows
firmware fwrad16.bin & fwrad17.bin. Am I right in assuming they need to go
in /etc/ndiswrapper? I've also deposited them in /lib/firmware, just to be on
the safe side!. Another confusing thing.... if I type ndiswrapper -l into a
terminal, I get hardware present, driver present!

On the Linux driver side, I have given it the relevant firmware
in /lib/firmware, and when I try to configure it, I get "unable to to find
network interface for selected device (using acx-pci)".

I'm just about at my wits end here.... I'm about ready to take it back to the
shop where I bought it from, and am in danger of committing a major felony,
by inserting it somewhere about the sales guys person, as he assured me it
would work fine on Linux... am I missing something here?

Cheers,

James
