Hi,
I run Red Hat 7.0 on Voodoo 3 2000 card with 16 megs of RAM.
Everything ran OK, until I installed IRAF (Image Analysis
and Reduction Facility) and especially its tool for viewing
images XImtool. It runs only under 256 colors, which is not
nice. The FAQ tells it might run also under 32 bit, but my
Xconfigurator does not seem to support this option. Under
Windows I can run 32 bit colors up to 1280x1024.
Can someone help me to switch my Xwindows to 32 bit colors?
Or how to switch between 8bit and 24 bit without running
Xconfigurator and restarting XWindows?
