This Athlon 1.4 doesn't happen to be installed on an IWill KK266 board or another KT133A/686B board by chance? And it's not a PCI by chance?

I ask because I've got a Radeon AIW 32MB PCI and have failed to get it to work on the IWill KK266 board w/1.2GHz Athlon "C". It locks the system unless I use Generic VGA.

Now, don't moan, but this was with Windows (which we all know is so easy to install and configure, and everything works out of the box with it), and ATI has been unable to provide any technical assistance for me. There is some indication that the problem may be related to the documented 686B bug, though this is supposed to affect SBLive and data corruption when transferring files from one drive to another.

Would be interesting to know your MB and whether others have the same MB/video card working.

My symptoms include:

pixelated corruption of display, especially when trying to play a DVD
system or screen lockup when doing anything (activate a menu, open an app, etc).

The *only* success I've had with this card is when I decrease acceleration two notches under Advanced/Performance

Hardware:
 ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon (32 MB)
 Samsung SyncMaster 955DF
 Athlon 1.4 GHz w/ 1 GB RAM

First:  At installation of Red Hat Xconfigurator locked system.  Reinstalled
several times before achieving _some_ graphics capability with Generic VGA
card and generic monitor refresh rates.

Second:  Installed XFree86 4.1 per latest instructions, including errata re:
removing buggy glide_drv.o.  After installed XFree86 -configure seemed to
succeed, but upon trying to run Xserver locked again.  (Locks with grey
pixelated screen, similar to the grey screen seen at X startup sometimes.)

Could acceleration be an issue?  I don't know whether it is trying to run in
accelerated mode or not...indications in the Xpert archive that dri and the
radeon driver have a bug which prevents that.
