edit /etc/inittab and change the default run level. I dunno which number you 
have to use, usually it's 2 or 3 but you should be able to find it in the 
file itself. Unfortunately you were supposed to do this before you installed 
4.1.0 :-) However you can boot from a floppy (NOT INTO YOUR SYSTEM!!) for 
instance a slackware install flop and then mount your filesystem under 
/mnt/root for instance and then edit /mnt/root/etc/inittab
