I have a ATI Xpert 2000 Pro which uses the same chipset as your card I believe. I have been having some problems getting dri to work properly. Specifically whenever I fire up an opengl application it will lock up the workstation such that a reset is the only way to recover.
The DRI website says that the Rage Pro cards are not supported. Are opengl applications (TuxRacer, etc) working with your set up? If so what is your config?
