okay my card now works great! i originally had the card in the first PCI slot. my machine does not have an AGP slot, and i have been told that perhaps the motherboard chip set was translating AGP to PCI or doing something special on that first slot. i moved the card to the 5th PCI slot and now it works great, i have 1600x1200 on two screens.
hope this is useful infor for others. cheers d > Hi, > > I have a PCI Matrox G450. > > I am using FreeBSD 4.3-RELEASE & XFree86 4.1.0 > > When I run XFree86 using the XF86Config.new file created by > XFree86 -configurem my system crashes with a blank screen.
