Hi, I suspect you don't have the *right* modes in your section screen. You should have a subsection display with the depth and resolution you wish. Then you should set the default depth to that depth and remove / comment out any other subsection with the same depth if any are there. You can always try to trick your monitor by setting the minimum refresh to 85 (VertRefresh 85.0-160.0 # assuming it can take it) in the corresponding line. According to your XF86Config, you are NOT running VESA but the i810 driver. I don't know it well but I had one case when the accel driver only liked 16 or 32 depth but NOT 24. why don't you try 32?
