Hi, I also have a laptop with a SiS630 chipset, and I also had some
problems configuring X since the chipet was not supported by the Xfree
version taht came with my suse 7.2 distr. I am new into Linux and I don't
know if it will be helpful, but what I did was to download the latest xfree
(4.1.0) from the suse web page ( http://www.suse.de/XSuSe ), install it and
configure with sax2. Now I have a 1024x768 graphic environment, and the only
bad thing is that it is with 256 colors.
