I am trying to upgrade XFree (currently 4.0.0) on my suse 7.1 system. I downloaded the Suse xf86-4.1.0-48.i386.rpm from the suse download site. This is supposed to be a tweaked version for suse. I installed as per the readme file (very limited info). The install goes ok but when I try the setup (using sax2) I get to the section where I test my new X set-up, and the set-up hangs. If I look in the sax22 log I get the following error:
xsetroot: error while loading shared libraries: libXmuu.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory xapi: run 3D script: /usr/X11R6/bin/switch2xf86_glx Now I assume that it is complaining about a missing library "libXmuu.so.1", I have checked my system and it is not on the system. I have checked XFree web site and it seems to me that this file is part of the xfree-lib.rpm file. I have searched the suse site but can not find any mention of this file. I am reluctant to try and install the XFree version as I do not wish to wreck my system further. I have already lost most of my fonts and those that are left are horrendous. Can anyone help Thanks in advance ebbing -- Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday! _______________________________________________ Newbie mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] *** To unsubscribe , or change message options, see: http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/newbie
