Ahhh I see...

I looked at the online manuals to see how to install it and configure
it...; I print them  out to follow while the install and config process
is going on..  But, it said xf86config or something like that...

Now that I screwed up everything... How do I restore it to its orignal
state since KDE is hosed as well and no mouse will not move correctly
and the screen is shifted to the left where I cannot see or execute a
command from the prompt

simply dont use xf86config but "XFree86 -configure" instead. Tweak it
manually afterwards (read through man XFree86 for what rthe sections do)
