XFree86 isn't an operating system. XFree86 /runs/ on many operating systems. XFree86 is just the graphical windowing system. To get started, pick up a copy of Linux or FreeBSD. XFree86 will run on any of them. I believe there's just the one FreeBSD distribution; however, there are several different Linux distributions; such as RedHat, Mandrake, SuSe, Debian, to name but four. (IIRC, there are doznes of distros, but these 4 just happen to come to mind..) Whichever you pick, you are likely to get an installed and configured version of XFree86 installed for you... -- Regards, [EMAIL PROTECTED] My website: http://www.iain.thomas.dial.pipex.com/ XMMS now playing: Blur - Black Book _______________________________________________ Newbie mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] *** To unsubscribe , or change message options, see: http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/newbie
