How old is the monitor?  Anything made for a PC in the last 4 years or
so ought to do "Plug'n'Play".  In a previous post you spoke of getting a
different video board.  IMHO you'd do much better to spend that money on
a new monitor.  That Radeon sounds like a very nice and very expensive
video board, you shouldn't have to give it up.  Nice monitors are pretty
cheap these days.

But still, you should be able to make it work.  What do you have in your
"Monitor" section in your XF86Config file?  If you just put reasonable
values for HorizSync and VertRefresh in the Monitor section it should
"just work" (I think).  Use the values (use the whole Monitor section)
you used to use when it was working with the old video card.
