Monitors (sold in the US, at least) have a manufacturing month and year on the tag on the back. Unfortunately, they don't have horizontal and vertical sync rates on that tag; that would make this problem disappear. > Section "Monitor" [...] > HorizSync 31.5 - 64.3 That looks pretty typical, and safe. Unless you have some other documentation on the tube that indicates otherwise, use this. [...] > VertRefresh 40-150 On the other hand, this looks pretty broad. 150Hz vertical rate would be a pretty expensive tube. Where did these numbers come from? If 1024 X 768 X 75Hz is what you want, then this is fine, since 75 is in the 40-150Hz range. Or you can cut it down to be safer, say 50-100. Or even 70-80, if you don't care to switch modes. > EndSection Did you try sticking these lines into the Monitor section of your new XF86Config? -- Remember, more computing power was thrown away last week than existed in the world in 1982. -- http://www.tom.womack.net/computing/prices.html _______________________________________________ Newbie mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] *** To unsubscribe , or change message options, see: http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/newbie
