I'd suggest trying to symlink /usr/X11R6/bin/X to /usr/X11R6/bin/Xwrapper.
the other way will work for XDM and the like; but cause problems when you
try to startx.
if there are problems, make sure /etc/X11/X is symlinked to
/usr/X11R6/bin/XFree86.
