I am still struggling, close to the point of giving it up.

I have an ATI Rage Fury AGP 32MB video card. No matter what I do, I can not
get the horizontal and vertical synchronization right. I have a KDS AV-7T
monitor. I tried to install Mandrake 8.1, and Redhat 7.2. I tried different
resolution and color depth settings, nothing seemed to work. The monitors
hsych range is 30-70, vsynch is 50-120. With the settings I tried both h and
vsynch is under the limit, so on my clever monitor I can see at little
monitor message saying that the h and v synch is out of range.

I don't have a home network installed, neither an extra video card (yet). So
I can not run xf86cfg through the network. I thought I have an ordinary
hardware, the doc says it is supported. I don't quite understand why there
is a problem with the synchronization. Could it be the bug in the driver? I
played with ModeLine settings, but it did not help. hsync is alwasy below
the monitor range. I have used the followings to configure X:

XFree86 -configure
xf86config
Xdrake
Xconfigurator

manual config

Any help is appreciated. If anybody has the same card working, it would be
good to have a look at the XF86Config-4 file.

Thanks.

Zsolt
