Sorry about not following up... I was quite busy and, I must admit, perplex... Some people had problems with ATI boards when a monitor was attached to the video output (even when then did not actually used it)... did you run with only one monitor and attached to the standard output? There should be little difference between 7.0 and 7.1, the one uses (I believe) 4.0.1 and the other 4.0.3 the bigger difference is between 7.1 and 7.2... it would also be interesting to know whether you are running the beta 7.2 (Roswell I believe) or the official release (Enigma, from your log it seems it should be the latter, but I don't remember the releases numbers... You could obviously try using the vesa driver to get going and then to try the r128 which basically should work. What I find curious is that here in Europe we seem to only have the card without TV out, the ATI cards with TV out are all Radeon... you might try that driver even though not everybody is happy with it...
