fvwm. no frills, no waiting, no breaking, no cruft on my desktop. I can make fvwm behave *exactly* as I want; and don't have to worry about it breaking, like Enlightenment often does when you try to change it. fvwm 2.4.3 supports multi-head reasonably well, too.
