yeah, there's a lot of drivers that are broken/nonexistent for
Linux/*BSD. however, I have hope that they might be fixed eventually; and I
can localize the specific problem much more easily; and I can participate in
the fixing of that problem.
I don't have anything like that for Windows.

my LUG meets once a month for big meetings, and has beer-n-burger
get-togethers once every couple of weeks. loads of fun. :)
you don't have to be in the area to use a LUGs mailiing list, tho. join
several mailing lists, and see which one you like the most.
www.linux.org has links to *lots* of them.
