Yeah... Actually, I've found that their cards are some of the best supported, though a lot of it has just been rolled in (they used to be some real buttheads about specs, and they still have the problem of WAY too many minor insignificant chip revisions).
The reason we see a lot of ATI beefs are that MGA cards are pretty rare, 3dfx is mostly dead, and many distros configure nVidia cards to use the binary drivers automagically, but most don't do a very good job of setting up DRI and the like on r128/radeon cards, which are quite common (almost as common as nVidia). ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lloyd Osten" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, January 16, 2002 2:51 AM Subject: Re: [Newbie]ATI Xpert 128 w/Mandrake 8.0 > On Tuesday 15 January 2002 02:17 pm, you wrote: > > usually the complaints are about radeon rather than the other ATI... > > Lionel > > > > --- Dexter Filmore <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > That's a Rage128 board, right?
