Hi I am looking to install X 4.2 on a box. I have downloaded the tar and expanded it. I will use the Xinstall.sh script to install.
My question is if I wish to tidy up my rpm db how should I go about it. I presume that it would be best to run the rpm files before buiding the new version of X. On a more general note is the way I propose a good idea, or should I get a rpm of the version of X I want. (Links welcome). Thankyou all in advance.
