Yes, I have looked it up already. Not only that, but it works in Slackware so I *know* it's possible. The way it works in Slackware is during the install of the OS, it asks me about a resolution for lilo.conf (?) and X works if I pick any resolution besides 'standard' ... I think it has something to do with a framebuffer server (?), but I don't know what that is, why it matters, and how (if) I can set it up in FreeBSD. That is what I am trying to find out :) > --- Chris Odum <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > Installed the 'minimal' version of FreeBSD 4.5 and downloaded the X > > > > binaries (4.2.0) and installed them myself. > > > > > > Does that mean you did not use the Xinstall.sh script, as "strongly > > > recommended" by http://www.xfree86.org/4.2.0/Install3.html#3 ?
