I don't know whether 3.3.6 is included with RH 7.3 (it was with all the previous RH
7.x) If it is
you can do as Shane suggested BUT in /etc/X11 NOT in /usr/X11R6/bin (at least in my RH
setup this
is the one which is used...). However, the config file is not anymore the same...
Theoretically
you should have two configs in your /etc/X11 directory one named XF86Config with the
right format
for 3.3.6 the other name XF86Config-4 for 4.2. Regrettably sometimes the RH install
(from 7.2
upward) decides that one suffices (usually when it considers the card well enough
supported in
4.2)
IN SHORT in /etc/X11/:
rename X (for instance X4)
if you have only an XF86Config back it up
create X as a symlink to /usr/X11R6/bin/XFree86_SVGA
run Xconfigurator, I would not run the test of the conf. sometimes it bums out even
when
everything is OK, thus messing up the conf.
Good luck
Lionel
