In JOSM (v 401) when I try to split a way, I am finding the odd occurrence of the error message, "There is more than one way using the node(s) you selected. Please select the way also."
But I am totally sure there is only one way involved. This happens either with a single node selected or multiple nodes. But either case often works just fine as well. I don't understand what is different between the split working or getting the error message. I also see inconsistent behavior on adding to a way. Sometimes the way is extended, other times a new way is started. What is different? I see this at either end of the way.
