I cannot imagine using any mapping tool without displaying street names by default.
I did some googling and wasn't able to come up with an answer to this. I'm only assuming this feature doesn't already exist. A plain wireframe is not useful to me since I don't have all locations memorized in this way. Mouseover on streets is horribly slow and clumsy. Middle-clicking is the same way. I saw in this thread about osmarender: http://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/newbies/2008-May/001428.html but osmarender is terribly clumsy to use and doesn't even seem to bring up anything useful for what I'm looking at. I just see some fuzzy lines. What I'm expecting to see are thick streets and paths, each with their name, just like the non-editing view. A hotkey to toggle back and forth from this mode would be helpful. _______________________________________________ newbies mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/newbies
