Pretty sure there isn't a problem. The bit of code used by the 'L' key is exactly the same as that used to do the projection in the rest of Potlatch, so there isn't really any way in which it can get out of sync with the data. As an even-more-of-an-oldtimer I advise that human beings use Potlatch. JOSM is admittedly quite good for nerds who should get out more and think that things like co-ordinates are so important they must be on-screen at all times. Potlatch is more for people who "just want to make a frickin' map".
