I had a quick look there, but I doubt if it is a Syn Flood trigger because I think that would be recorded in my Linksys BEFSX41 firewall log. As far as I know, there is no open source firmware for that model: if there was, it would provide a good way of investigating the problem. But I would need to understand far more about the interaction between the servers and the browser and I don't have the time to look into this for now. As I say, the problem is intermittent, although I do frequently find very long delays in loading tiles. I have wondered if some packets are being blocked, and then being loaded after a timeout. But it might just be the overloaded servers or restricted bandwidth. > I don't know whether that relates, but I wondered if you had another > router you could try? I did have another router for a time but it may have been before I started using OSM. That router had problems with voip which 3Com couldn't solve (avoid them, then even charge for firmware upgrades!), but maybe sometime I could did it out and see whether the problem goes away. Not that I see it in a definite form very often these days. ael _______________________________________________ newbies mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/newbies
