i also have the Garmin GPSmap76CSx. my Ubuntu 8.04/8.10 laptops mount gps micro-SD read-write, and mounts it via USB as mass storage RW too. you may have an older Ubuntu with the Readonly default on NTFS+FAT filesystems? or some other 'careful' setting yhat i am not recognizing. or a rw switch on your adapter? (i just wish i could select user map files with gps as i can with poi files. havinging to mount the card to swap maps when crossing corners of states is annoying.) -- Bill [email protected] [email protected] _______________________________________________ newbies mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/newbies
