I do.  “controlled” often refers to traffic controls, i.e. stop signs,
lights, etc.  An “uncontrolled intersection” is one where there is none
of this[1].  By logical extension, an uncontrolled crosswalk would be
one where there are no lights or signs (and maybe no painted marking).
This term does not appear to be in actual use for this, but it would be
cause for confusion.
