Duplicating the latitude/longitude of the waypoint in the track section seems to have done the trick: P2 opened, with a clearly visible circle where my waypoint was. I then dragged and dropped a "postbox" icon onto it, from the left hand side pane, edited the metadata and saved. In doing that, I treated the original waypoint simply as a marker to manually stick a POI from the P2 selection on. The end result is the post box icon here: http://osm.org/go/euuy6cNHW-- Is this how this is supposed to work?
