I think what Wade is getting at here is most likely when you put in your
winders CD, it will allow you to format the entire disk. But, as was
pointed out earlier, fdisk is easy enough though it may not be
necessary. I usually just let the Linux installers nuke winders, I mean
in your case, the winders installer nuke Linux...



yeah you can try everything that's been said, but In my experience, sometimes windows does not like to see linux partitions. Even to delete them! so you may want to use your linux rescue CD to get it to work. linux fdisk is a little complicated, but here's how you start.

boot into rescue mode.
then at the command prompt type in:

fdisk /dev/hda

this will bring you to a command prompt.
delete all of your partitions and then write it to the partition table (? should show you how to do all of this)


Then install windows
