Any more info we can get? What programs have you installed? What errors did you get? What do the log files say? Does the printer work fine on the linux box? What kind of printer? > Suse- The cups server can't start How did you try to start it? What errors did you get? > Fedora- 4 dosn't support video card What video card? > 5 install craches Does it give an error? Where does it crash? Did the cds check out ok? Do you have unusual hardware on the machine? > on different hardware the win drivers need to be installed > for cups to export drivers but they are in a exe package I'm not quite certain what you're trying to say here. Can you be a bit more clear please? > knoppix- Samba won't start How did you try to start it? What error did it give when you tried? > Umbunta- doesn't have a samba GUI I'm assuming you mean Ubuntu. Did you look to see if there was one you could install? What's the one you tried to use elsewhere? Is there a particular GUI you're looking for? Did you check to see if aptitude/synaptic has the GUI? I don't know if they can help you at the meetings. From what sco++ said, I'm guessing they will be willing to help, but you'll probably want to see about getting as much information as possible, since the more information you provide, the more likely that they'll be able to solve the problem in the amount of time that is available. ~Erin -- http://www.tuxgirl.com
