I agree, i think is not a good idea NFSv4 on GNU/Linux yet... and Solaris too... I think a solution is use a UFS backend on the Solaris Server, if we want to use POSIX-draft ACL (GNU/Linux Clients). I have made a call support for SUN to have a "official" answer, but was frustating... Now, what i think is: ZFS/NFS Using NFSv4 ACL (GNU/Linux clients will not work using POSIX-draft ACL) UFS/NFS Using POSIX-draft ACL (All clients should be fine) As i don't know about a filesystem like ZFS that does POSIX-draft ACL, i think the options are fair enough.
