Well emile, I remember not too long ago when I had trouble removing my seat until I watched someone else do it and I've been home free ever since. You should have two keys for your bike. I do. One for the ignition and one for the rear to remove the seat. With the key inserted in the key hole in back of the seat and turned with one hand, slide the seat backwards with the other hand and it should slide right off. That's assuming they all work the same way. I have a 93. Hope this helps!!

While I am admittedly a wet behind the ears newbie to motorcycles in general, I did buy the manual as well as the Haynes service manual which has lots of information on how to trouble shoot the battery but absolutely none on how to take the damn seat off the bike to actually get to it. Does anyone know how to get his thing off? is there a latch or or bolt or some kind of incantation that needs to be recited?
