It feels a little queer to begin and end a letter addressed the same...my middle is Macphail, so call me Mac. Not oddly I'm a PC guy. I live in southern California, San Clemente. Just north of Camp Pendelton Marine Corps base. New Zealand sounds most excellent. Got any pics? Too Right,Graham Macphail
EMAILING FOR THE GREATER GOOD Join me From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Subject: [Nighthawk Lovers] Re: Body panel question Date: Wed, 11 Mar 2009 09:03:04 -0700 Message Graham, Are you in New Zealand now or here in the U.S? I'm in the U.S. but we're in the midst of a long-planned move to Christchurch, NZ. In fact, I've got a CB700SC here (an 85) and another there (an 84) - that's how much I love them. Great touring on the South Island these last two years when I was down there. I would be willing to measure the 550 panel for our friend here and maybe he can manufacture one.) The rearward stud on the left side busted from... stuff, and i lost the piece too. I waited it out for the OE rubber grommet piece to come in the mail. I went to Motorcycles Unlimited, in Stanton, CA and found a similar, but longer stud off an old Yamaha I think. I stuck the hack- job together using some bent welding rod for support, and Permatex 2- part plastic weld epoxy and my Dremmel for a custom fit. The grommet was like two or three dollars and I had the other stuff so this repair, although time consuming, is super low cost. For alteration of body panels... good luck hotrod..
