Were I cleaning it, I would follow directions and use low pressure air, then blow - dry the rest of the way on a low setting. Too much air pressure can damage it. Anbd if it says 50,000 miles and you have no dirt roads, dust storms, etc, then to a visual and go from there. No buildup? Let 'er ride. Like HRM says - if it ain't broke don't fix it... Stanley

How often do they need to be cleaned? One source I saw said every 50K miles. Mine is used in normal (not dusty) conditions, and I've got 25K on it since installation. Also, to clean them, the instructions I saw were to soak the filter in a tub of soapy water, then turn a gentle garden hose on it to rinse, and let dry. It's a whole day process and I'd rather use Saturday to ride. Is there an easier way? Thanks!
