Wow, now my quotes are being used to discredit the south as backwards thinking rednecks ;) Just before everyone thinks I dance around a burning cross wearing sheets each night simply because I can understand why someone would fly a rebel flag let me inform you that one of my ancestors that lived in Louisiana before the civil war was rumored to assist runaway slaves that crossed his property on their way north. I mention this simply because my pride in my great-great-great-grandfather's actions speaks a bit to my views on the topic of slavery and shows that I come from a long line of "forward thinking people".
