The trade refers to those as V42's. Yeah, lots of stuff can be exchanged between those bikes.

My question is do parts interchange from the two years? I have a 1984 V45 Magna. No title (yet) and the original owner started taking things apart to clean the carbs, moved and lost all the parts. I bought the bike from him. (He lost the title and Harrisburg here in PA says they have no record of it ever being titled in PA. A notary is helping me verify that). I bought all the missing parts off e-Bay and they sit in a box waiting to see if I get it titled before putting it back together. It's only done 12k miles. My next door neighbor has a V65 which he brings out once a year, rides it and puts it away again. His has done 22k miles and is in great shape. No, he won't sell it to me On Jun 5, 2009, at 3:10 PM, Kyle Munz wrote: My buddy pickedup an 83 V45 last year right before he had to go in for shoulder surgery. He asked me to ride it around for a couple of weeks while he recuperated. Really nice bike, if I couldn't have a nighthawk I'd love to have one of those. I agree with everyone else here though, 74K is crazy high mileage, but for $500 it might be fun for a month or two until you have to part it out. -Kyle -Sent from Ingleside, TX, United States On Wed, Jun 3, 2009 at 7:12 AM, NytWing <[email protected]> wrote: I've got a chance to pick up a 1983 V45 Sabre for $500. It's got 74K on the clock, looks like it's in decent shape from the pics. I believe it's 750cc. Any known problems with them? What should I be looking for if I decide to take it for a ride? --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
