Recently I borrowed my step-uncle's Ford F-150 to bring a desk home that I
helped my father make way back in 1962.  The wood is black walnut, solid,
except the inside of the drawers, which he changed out later because the walnut
came from an old barn and weathered, and cracked and split from the heat
and humidity down south.

Driving around 75 mph with the air conditioning on, the consumption was around
22mpg., including about 30% in-town driving - and without my hydrogen generator
on.

It has a very comfortable ride; and also, an impressive sound system.

I have a 2000 Chevy 3/4 ton Silverado with the same displacement. It's been
the best truck I've owned. I can't figure out why yours would have such a
lack of power. Have you checked the plugs and wires? Even a small drain on
power from somewhere could slow it down. Not everything shows up on a
computer diagnostic either. (I've got good deals on cars which had minor
problems that nobody caught because they think everything shows up on a
computer diagnostic..) HotrodMamma.

HaHaHa...Funny Kyle...it's released, believe me...I've
checked...multiple times...

As for a Tacoma...I've considered it...but for some unknown reason, i
just prefer American made trucks...
my dream truck is a black dodge dakota...but that's a bit down the
line like in 5-7 years...

for now, i use the silverado daily because is looks nice..

as for gas...i think the silverado does pretty okay i guess...i
checked last month...
it got 400 miles to a tank...which averaged out to about 16 miles a
gallon city driving...
took it on a short 150 mile road trip and i'm pretty sure it got about
20 miles per gallon highway driving...

that's what i thought, Paul,
i've had the oil changed on a regular basis, and in april, i took it
to AAMCO for their transmission service...
i mentioned to them that it had no get up and go...but when they
checked it they said everything was okay...go figure?...
my last oil change was last week, and i took it to the dealer
(they had an anniversary special i just couldn't pass up...$19.59 for
an oil change!)
but i didn't mention it to them...

Does anyone know of any other Groups or Forums like this one but for
Chevy Silverado's? ....

thanks...
