I know mine doesn't. And I looked for research on it and I found nothing that gave any indication that there's a gear indicator. I even looking into finding an aftermarket one. The 550 was my first cycle and apparently, I didn't know how to count (or I forgot) so I looked long and hard for a gear indicator. I did finally learn to judge what gear I was in by rpms vs mph.
