Dennis, thanks SO much for checking it out. I really don't need it
as another project. I have other bikes here to work on and this
afternoon I just picked up a 1983 Suzuki GS650L. I really like the
80's GS Suzukis, particularly the 650's on up. This one was owned by
an older guy who was too old to ride any more. He kept it in good
shape and I drove it home.
Back to the 700. I think I will check back with him on Wednesday and
if he still has it -maybe offer him $300. I have a side cover for
it, a seat and 2 windshields.
Now to my two 700's. I just took the 84 out for a ride. It has more
power than I imagined but the transmission clunks pretty loud going
through the gears. I think the 86 does that too but not as loud. It
doesn't do it when it's cold, just as soon as it warms up. Is this
normal for these bikes? The 650's don't do it.
I haven't done any more on the gear indicator problem yet. I'll look
at the one on the 84 and if that doesn't help I'll send you pics. I
do need the switch assembly and that other little shaft dodad at least.
Thanks again Dennis, Graham
