Hello all New rider here. Just got a 1984 Nighthawk 650, has just over 20,000 miles, and is in excellent shape. I was using original manual and the manual reads that once bike is warmed I should put choke lever into closed position, but they show that is being down at the bottom of the arrow, (not where the word "Choke" is). Moving the choke lever down makes the engine rev higher and higher, so shouldn't the lever be in the up position once bike is warm? It is up by the word "choke" that the bike seems to idle normally. Am I not getting something or could my manual actually be wrong and have the positions mixed up calling the lever in the up position as fully open and lever down as fully closed.
A little help wopuld be great, don't want to run the bike with the choke open. Easiest way to answer is just to let me know if lever should be in the up for down position with bike running normal.
