Kyle, On my 84 650 I push the lever down towards the tank when I first start
and then gradually push it up as the bike warms up. I am reading the owner's
manual as I type and it seems wrong. Fully closed is down and fully open is
up. It says to go to fully closed after a half minute and if idling is
unstable open the throttle. If I do that on mine I would be idling at about
3000 rpms. Maybe mine is wrong but it does work, runs fine and idles nicely.
