on a 450 - twin cyl, I would drain the tank, check inside of tank for  
rust, flush it, remove the carbs and clean them - all jets and  
passage ways, remove and clean spark plugs, check air filter, replace  
oil and oil filter, then fill tank with fresh gas if there's no rust,  
and start the bike (assuming you have a good battery).
