You do make a good point, but it is also written that we must be the change we
wish to see in the world... Im not saying that i am right, just my personal
beliefs.... The "devil made me do it" is a cop out... I do believe in personal
responsability... Just because i am a gentle peacefull person does not mean
that i do not keep firearms abord my boat, nore does it mean that i would not
use them.... What it does mean is that the first 2 rounds in the shotgun are
loaded with pepercorns... And if an intruder dosent learn there lesson by then
i will keep pumping out rounds..... This also means that i am willing to accept
the concuences of my action both legaly and moraly.... In this case i may have
shot and killed the intruder... Leagaly i am within my rights becuse somebody
borded without permision, but does that clean me moraly??? I dont think so, but
the verbal warings and the fact that i know i wont pull the trigger untill i
feel threatened means that i am giving the person (yes, still human) the chance
to get away with there life.... And life is sacred...

I was sure this part of the argument would follow the first. It's the escape
hatch from commitment. The reasoning point to avoidance. Your belief in the
non-violent Muslims seems founded in observations of secular ones. I suggest a
reading of their holy book. I was right, you are a gentle soul. So much so that
you fail to grasp the nature of evil. Two simple statements come to mind, both
profound in simplicity. To a benevolent; "you're doin' the Lord's own work" And
in defense of a bad deed "the devil made me do it' We can be the instruments
of either. We need not see them to recognize who's hand was at work.
I may be a bit too simple for some but I know that to accept one is to
acknowledge the other. The bleating of "can't we just all get along in peace"
is to reject the concept of evil. I read recently that those who beat their
weapons into plow shares will be ruled by those who didn't.

I dated a girl once who said it (what i feel is) best... Religion is alot like
a potato chip, it is processed added to, parts removed and neatly packaged...
Where spiretuality is much more like the potato, it is whole, wholesome,
natural, and full of potental.... I have always felt that home made chips and
fries were so much better then what comes from the store...

But to my point... A true muslum wouldent send me to my maker (i personaly dont
believe in heven or hell ither... Reincarnation baby) it is the radicals that
push things past where they should.... A simple question.... How many people
have been killed or wars started "in the name of god"... in the bible (no i
dont know what version so i wont quote numbers) there are some thousands of
people killed "in the name of god"... How many were killed by saitan??? If i
rember correctly only a few.....

Im am sorry if i have offended anybody, i do not wish to bash anybodys
beliefs.... Just to mabey get people to ask why they believe what they do...

Thank you
paul

Ahhhh... How many times I've heard this argument presented. I'll give you
credit for being a gentle soul. You must pass on to get the answer. Before
that, you would do well to avail yourself of grace in this life. Your point may
be posed to a Muslim and for your indecision, you may get your answer much
sooner than expected. The author of confusion is well known. Take a stand and
believe in something or fall for anything. Jesus knew that religion would serve
to divide. You give evidence of this.
