I had one undergraduate history professor whose life matched his
academics. He was truly patriotic, enlightened, a Christian and
sacrificed his life for others.

How did you survive the America hating academics ? We have a

I became an American citizen after doing my graduate studies in
American history and finding in spite of my professors that
America's freedoms and greatness came directly from the impetus of
the Judeo/Christian faith, no question about it. The freedom or
tolerance towards other faiths coming and settling in America comes
from the Christian faith. It never ceases to amaze me. Look at
the founding constitutions of every state in the union and the
words of the founding fathers ....

you want to worship or not. It's a great freedom.
Motorcycle riders typically have one thing in common. PASSION.
It's not only for Motorcycles (brand, style, color, etc), but oil,
tires, places to ride and you can always get a passionate
discussion out of good group of people who like to ride.
Sorry for helping stur the pot. I really enjoyed reading all the
post. It appears most are not shy to share.

Curious in speaking about the Bible. Have you read it? Most (I
hear 90% of Americans) have not read it, but it was vital to the
founding fathers of this nation. I took the challenge 5 years ago
and completed the Bible in one year. My suggestion is to read it.
I would suggest John first. Revelations second and Genesis third.
Keep in mind all three religions come from Abraham. Jews and
Muslims are brothers by two different mothers, so half brothers.
Amazing how the two don't get along. God promised Abraham to be
the father of many nations. He sure kept that promise.

Ahhhh... How many times I've heard this argument presented. I'll
give you credit for being a gentle soul. You must pass on to get
the answer. Before that, you would do well to avail yourself of
grace in this life. Your point may be posed to a Muslim and for
your indecision, you may get your answer much sooner than
expected. The author of confusion is well known. Take a stand and
believe in something or fall for anything. Jesus knew that
religion would serve to divide. You give evidence of this.

My personal view... Yes being religious and being spirtual are
completly diffrent.... While i see my self as very spritual, i do
not relate with the religious title... What alot of christians
(and im not saying anybody in this fourm... Just my lifes
observation) forget is that christianity is not as old as they
want to believe... Jesus was a jew... I personaly believe that
jesus was a good man... He did many good acts, and mabey got lucky
with a few things (ie curing blindness with mud).... He held the
title of rabi (meaning teacher... In the old custom it had little
to do with religion) and has taught the world many things even
after his death.... What i dont believe is that he was the son of
god... The stories have been passed along for well over 2,000
years, and has to mavy versions to discuss here... Each slightly
diffrent... If the bible is the word of god what version is
right??? And with that if a version was right why is it a version
not just THE
BIBLE??

Religion / religious is quite separate from spiritual / and or
believing. Your observation of Jesus is accurate.
Where's our host Paul in all this ?
