There are tiny holes in the bottom of the mufflers at the joint. Make sure they are open to prevent rusting out (big problem with 650) The white smoke is water. Poke the holes open and at 40 degrees, they should drip when started. Blue vapor is bad, white is not. The holes block up with rust. You're turning water into steam. The left side because of it's being on the side stand.

Got the 83 650 out of the garage and running. Have not put even 100 miles on it yet as it's still a little on the cold side. Was tough to get started at first but now fires every time. However, when I start it I get some white smoke in the exhaust. This mostly clears up when I get it warmed up, but it takes a little while. Just brought it in for tires and the person following me to take me home said there was a little white smoke out of the left tail pipe when idling at a light. My ride to the shop was only about 7 miles and it was only about 40 degrees out at the time. I know this is not a lot of info to go on, but is this something I should be worried about or is this normal for a motor this old (26,500 miles) after it's been stored for the winter? Thanks!
