Sounds acceptable...except for the gas thing. All gas is not created equal. I use only premium gas in my bikes. When I went to Las Vegas a few weeks back and picked up my 2000 Harley I noticed that it was pinging and running a little rough. Shell premium gas and 1/2 can of Seafoam and no more of that. I just hope that Ethanol additive becomes, once again, a thing of the past. That crap will mess up a good motor eventually.

Icarus There's some eye-rolling going on here because everyone has his favorite witches brew oil preference and debates over which is best can drag on and on with no definitive answer. Truth is you can use just about any oil, synthetic included, that does NOT contain friction modifiers (molybdenum and such). Your clutch mechanism is lubricated by engine oil, and these relatively modern/new additives can cause it to fail prematurely. Your best bet is go to Walmart and pick one that is labeled motocycle specific. I used the eenie, meenie, minnie, moe decision-making method and came up with Mobil 1 and have been happy with it. Choice of viscosity is a matter of operating temperature where you live. 10W-40 covers the broadest range (from about 5 degrees to well over 100). Change it every 3K miles and you can't go wrong. Regular gas is sufficient.
